It was Norman Cousins who wrote about how important laughter is in healing in the book:I read this book back in the 1990’s and it has stuck with me ever since. We all need to laugh, and it does make us feel better, doesn’t it?
Here are a few quotes on laughter from Norman Cousins:
“Hearty laughter is a good way to jog internally without having to go outdoors. It moves your internal organs around. It enhances respiration. It is an igniter of great expectations.”
“Laughter is a powerful way to tap positive emotions.”
“Ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain-free sleep.”
May you laugh today, and make others laugh too!
Hugs and be well!
