January 26th, 2015 – A Beautiful Day!

Beautiful Sunrise

Beautiful Sunrise

I woke up this morning, put on a pot of coffee, and when it was ready, I headed outdoors to greet the day. I was met with this lovely sunrise! Seeing such beauty at the beginning of my day, I just know that today will be a good day!

The health update: I have been taking the medication to help with the depression and the neuropathy now for almost 2 weeks now. I must say that it is helping with the depression, but not helping with the neuropathy or the shaking hands.

I met a friend for lunch this last week and while trying to eat salsa on chips, I was spilling everywhere. The shaking is getting worse. I do see the neurologist on the 17th of February. Hopefully, we can figure out what the issue is.

May you have an amazing week! Hugs and be well!

Meet Laughing Sal – Dec. 1st – The Daily Affirmation

They say laughter is the best medicine. They say that laughter brings joy and happiness to you. They say laughter is good for the soul. Today I bring you that best medicine, one that brings you joy, happiness, and that soothes the soul…in a weird way! Tell me if you agree!

Today I introduce you to “Laughing Sal,” who currently resides at the arcade below the Cliff House in San Francisco. This video is of a little boy named Simon and his first visit with Laughing Sal…

The video credit goes to JBoeger…While the video is 8 years old…Sal still makes you want to laugh with her! Please, I ask kindly, that you watch the entire video. For one minute and 2 seconds, you are guaranteed to laugh! I now introduce you to Laughing Sal and Simon…

Now, I ask you: 1) Did you watch the whole video? 2) Did you laugh? 3) Did I do my job for the day? 🙂

Wah, haaaa, haaa haaaa haaaa haaa ha! Let’s all be like Laughing Sal and look at the dish life hands us, sweet or sour, and laugh! Ah, a good lesson for each and everyone of us to learn!

Hugs and be well!

Friends

Friends

Did you know that spending time with friends has health benefits? It does! Companionship of friends can help boost one’s self esteem, reduces depression, and gives one moral support! Having good friends helps one to live longer too! Friends can help you deal with stress. And, studies have found that having lots of friends can reduce issues with the cardiovascular system, and the immune system!

So for today, go out and spend some time with friends! This is my game plan for today! What is yours?

Hugs and be well!

July 12th – The Daily Affirmation

Look inside for strength!

Look inside for strength!

Today I take the time to find that inner strength that I know resides within me to heal myself! I close my eyes, quieting my mind, turning off the internal chatter to focus on what is in within! I feel myself expanding. I draw in each breathe slowly. I feel a humming begin within me and I am centered! I tap into that energy that is within my as see a glow that spreads outward. It is healing energy! I am glowing! And, I am refreshed! And, I am healing myself!

Thank you for visiting with me today, and may you enjoy your day!

Hugs and be well! Jane

July 10th – The Daily Affirmation

One step at a time!

One step at a time!

One thing that I have learned in life is that challenges always come up. Whether it is associated to one’s job, health, even relationships. Those challenges and the decisions that we make end up forming who we are.

I once had someone say to me, “You know where you made your mistake?”

I stopped them right there. I told them that I have made no mistakes. I have made decisions. If I make a decision that does not have the outcome that I expected, then hopefully I will have learned from it. That lesson learned results in personal growth of who I am. I pointed out that if I had not made the decisions that I made in the past, I would not be who I am today. And who I am today is why they are in my life today.

So as we move on in life making one decision after another, we bravely face the day, and by taking one small step at a time, we can overcome those challenges. Like my bout with Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma. In my mind I can hear a statement that comes from the movie “Galaxy Quest:”

“Never give up! Never surrender!”

And, that I will! How about you?

Hugs and be well! Jane
